Campo de Criptana is another town located in the province of Ciudad Real, in Castilla-La Mancha. It has a population of around 13,000 inhabitants.
One of the most outstanding tourist attractions in Campo de Criptana are its windmills, which are located on the top of a hill and are a symbol of the town. These windmills are the oldest in Spain and some of them date back to the 16th century. They were immortalised by the writer Miguel de Cervantes in his work "Don Quixote of La Mancha", becoming an icon of universal literature.
As for Criptana wine, the town is located in the production area of the D.O. La Mancha, one of the most important designations of origin in Spain. The wines of the D.O. La Mancha are made from grape varieties such as Tempranillo, Garnacha, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. In Campo de Criptana you will find some wineries and cooperatives that produce high quality wines, such as the Cooperativa El Progreso or Bodegas Símbolo. You can also try other typical local products, such as Manchego cheese, olive oil and lamb.
Among their wine experiences, the must and wine tasting and their invitation to spend a day with them during the grape harvest, accompanied by a typical Manchegan meal, stand out.
